WordPress Theme Selection: In this video, I have elaborated the checklist for selecting the right theme for your WordPress website.

1. Niche-Specific - Consider Your Audience
Look for the theme in your niche. If your audience is mainly writers, then focus on the written content. If your audience want your photographic services, then you should have a strong focus on the visual content.

2. Safety First
You should check the source code integrity of the theme. The selected theme could be from a trusted provider and it could be best suited for your purpose. But code integrity check is a must. You should check with the plugins like Sucuri or Theme Authenticity Checker (TAC).

3. Responsive - Mobile Friendly Theme
The theme should render in all Smartphones and tablets seamlessly. Most of the visitors nowadays coming from small screens. Google also gives more priority with the mobile friendly websites.

4. Cross-Browser Compatibility
Verify the theme whether it is rendering perfectly on different browsers like Google Chrome, Firefox, Internet Explorer, Safari, etc.

5. Supported Plugins
Make sure that your WordPress theme supports all popular plugins. If you are not sure, ask theme developer about it.

6. SEO Optimization
The theme plays a crucial role in SEO. A good looking theme can still generate poorly coded HTML. This could affect your site's performance on search engines. Verify with W3C Markup Validation service to see if the page generates proper HTML.

7. Last but not the least, Ratings and Reviews
Check ratings and reviews provided by the existing theme users.
